You are researching the impact of rising CO₂ levels on ocean acidification. Below are several potential sources of information. Which source would be the most credible and reliable for your research? Explain your choice. When/how might each of the different sources be useful? Finally, how does this relate to synthesizing the feedback you received during the paper prototyping session?

1. A blog post written by a non-scientist discussing their personal views on climate change.

2. A peer-reviewed journal article published in Nature Climate Change on the effects of CO₂ on marine ecosystems.

Synthesizing information is not simply stating a bunch of facts. Instead, synthesizing information requires you to look at the facts and identify trends or patterns you see (and sometimes, things you don't see). For example, average Canadian CO2 levels were presented in the lab for 1976, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020. These facts were then synthesized into a short paragraph: Canadian Co2 levels have been steadily increasing from 333.4 parts per million since 1976. In 2022, the concentration levels hit 419.7 (a 25% increase over 1976). 

Research and synthesize facts to answer the question: How has food insecurity changed in Canada since 2005? Write a short (3 or more sentences) paragraph. 

A client has

asked you to develop a tool to help support positive health for young adults

living with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. The tool will allow young adults to record when they have taken their medication, and provide them

with positive feedback. Gamifying the app has been recommended by the client.

The client also requires that the app create a sense of community, so users can connect with friends and family through the app to provide positive reinforcement when the user maintains a proper medication

schedule. Finally, the client has staff who help manage and set up the system

for each user, and they require monthly reports of each user's

adherence to their medication schedules. 

The system requires a mobile app for young

adults and a web portal for the clients and staff who help manage

medications.
