The jaws chosen must fit the shape of the test piece.

The axis of the test piece must coincide with the force application direction e. the test piece must be directly between the jaws.

The grips must be tightened so that the test piece cannot slip between them.

The test piece must be fastened between the grips in its correct attachment part.
