The fact that Article 14(1)(b) requires the father (not the mother) of the children who were born overseas to be a Malaysian citizen at the time of their birth.

The fact that Article 15(2) states that the Malaysian government is to decide whether to register any person ― aged below 21 and who has at least one Malaysian parent ― as a Malaysian citizen, if the person’s parent or guardian applies for the citizenship registration, and the government has not made the decision to approve the application.
