Reading 2 

Angel was a seventeen-year-old boy who lived in a small town. He was known for his creativity and talent in making things. His friends often admired his skills, and many of his creations were displayed in the local community center. From wooden toys to beautiful paintings, Angel’s work was appreciated by everyone. However, despite his talent, Angel struggled with a lack of confidence. 

When it came time to think about his future, Angel was faced with a difficult decision. Many of his classmates were applying to universities and art schools, but Angel felt unsure. “If I was more confident, I would apply too,” he often thought. Instead, he decided not to study further. His talents were recognized by many, but he believed that he would not succeed in a competitive environment. 

One day, while Angel was working on a new project in his garage, his best friend, Marco, visited him. “Angel, why aren’t you applying to art school?” Marco asked. “Your work is amazing! You could be a great artist.” Angel replied, “I appreciate your support, but I don’t think I’m good enough. What if I fail? I don’t want to be disappointed.” Marco shook his head and said, “You will never know unless you try. Your creations deserve to be seen by more people.” 

Despite Marco’s encouragement, Angel remained unconvinced. He continued to create beautiful things, but his dreams were put on hold. One afternoon, while he was painting in the garage, a flyer was dropped through his front door. It was an advertisement for a local art exhibition. The flyer stated, “Talented artists are invited to showcase their work. Join us for a chance to be recognized!” 

Angel read the flyer several times. “If I could participate in this exhibition, maybe I would gain some confidence,” he thought. However, self-doubt clouded his mind. “What if my work is not good enough? What if I am not chosen?” he wondered. In the end, the decision was made to ignore the invitation. 

Days turned into weeks, and the exhibition date approached. Angel watched as his friends prepared their works for the show. He felt a mix of excitement and fear. “If I had applied, I would be showcasing my art too,” he thought sadly. He felt like an outsider, watching others achieve what he desired. 

One evening, Angel was sitting alone in his garage, feeling frustrated. Suddenly, he had an idea. Why not create something special just for himself? He decided to make a unique sculpture from recycled materials. As he worked on the piece, ideas flowed, and his confidence began to grow. The sculpture was formed and painted with bright colors, reflecting his personality. 

On the day of the exhibition, Angel stood outside the community center. He watched as people entered, excited to see the artwork. “If only I had been brave enough to show my work,” he thought. Just then, Marco arrived and said, “Angel, you have to come inside! Everyone is talking about your sculpture!” 

Surprised, Angel followed Marco into the center. His sculpture was placed in a prominent spot, and people were admiring it. “This was made by Angel!” someone exclaimed. Angel felt a mix of pride and disbelief. His work was being appreciated, and compliments were given. “Your talent should not be hidden,” Marco said, encouraging him to join the conversation. 

As Angel listened to the feedback from visitors, he realized that his lack of confidence had held him back for too long. He had let fear stop him from pursuing his dreams. That day, he made a promise to himself: “If I am given another chance, I will not let fear control my decisions.” 

After the exhibition, Angel was approached by a local art teacher. “Your work is impressive, and I would like to help you develop your skills further,” the teacher said. Angel was surprised but excited. “If I accept this opportunity, I could learn so much,” he thought. 

In the following weeks, Angel started taking art classes. He learned new techniques and gained confidence in his abilities. His art was no longer hidden; it was shared and celebrated. Angel discovered that if he believed in himself, amazing things could happen. 

From that day on, the fear of failure was replaced with determination. Angel realized that everyone has doubts, but it is how we face them that matters. He had taken the first step towards a brighter future, and he was ready to embrace it.
