Mechanical hazard - one must be careful when performing the tensile tests.  The mechanical forces are very high and great care needs to be taken to ensure no part of your body interferes with the tensile test

Electrical hazard - the furnaces and tensile machines used in this lab are all powered by electricity. One needs to ensure that all electrical power cords are in good order and have not been compromised by either heat, or mechanical force, to minimise any chance of electrical hazards.

Thermal hazard - the temperatures of the tube furnace and the salt pot are very high. Any skin contact with these hot surfaces will result in a burn.

All of the above - all of thermal, mechanical and electrical hazards are legitimate concerns in this lab and all need to be considered carefully.
