Thandiswa is entitled to refuse to pay the rent.

The

defect is not material and Jabu is therefore not obliged to have the roof

repaired.

If Jabu refuses to repair the roof, Thandiswa is entitled to have the

roof repaired and to claim a reduction of the rent on the grounds of such

reparation.

Jabu is entitled to maintenance of the house in a fit condition and

Thandiswa is therefore obliged to have the roof repaired.
