Decide ever two days if the patient still needs the central line.

Simply wash your hand and put on gloves, and then insert the central without prepping patient skin.

Allow the line to stay in an additional 24 hours after it has been established the patient no longer needs it.

Chose a vein where the catheter can be safely inserted and the risk of infection is small.
