A minor needs the consent of all his or her guardians to enter into a customary marriage, unless the court orders otherwise.

If the guardian’s consent cannot be obtained, the presiding officer of the Children’s Court may grant consent.

If a guardian or the presiding officer of the Children's Court withholds consent, the minor may approach the High Court for consent.

If a minor does not obtain consent from his or her guardian(s) or the presiding officer of the Children's Court or the High Court, the marriage is void.
