A party who contracted with an unassisted minor cannot escape contractual obligations by invoking the exceptio non adimpleti contractus. 

A minor can incur contractual liability if his or her guardian assisted him or her when the contract was concluded. 

The general rule is that minors between seven and 18 years of age have limited capacity to act.

If a minor enters into an unassisted contract which imposes duties on him or her, the contract is void.
