A first year student in their first session of study at UOW has submitted a assessment task in hard-copy. The teacher reads it and thinks that a paragraph looks suspiciously like it may have been copied from someone else.  The teacher does a quick Google search and sees that four consecutive sentences have come from an online article. A bibliographic reference to the relevant article appears in the Reference List but there is no in-text citation. There seems to be no other issues with the submission.

How do you think a teacher would evaluate this?   What level of outcome do you think would be appropriately imposed in this situation?
