Find My Property Inc.

Your firm, RA’s United Inc. an audit firm of Registered Auditors has recently been approached to be appointed as the auditors of Find My Property Ltd [FMP], an online estate agency, for the 29 February 2024 financial year-end.

Nature and Background of the Business

FMP was established in 2019 by Ms Alicia Mofokeng CA(SA), who is the CEO and the Chairperson of the board since incorporation, after being a successful estate agent herself. Ms Mofokeng completed her SAICA articles in 2004 and after this she followed her lifelong dream of buying and selling houses. She is currently actively involved in the day-to-day managing of FMP. FMP only has one office in Cape Town which also serves as the head office.

Governance Structures

FMH is fully committed to comply with the KING IV Code on Corporate Governance in South Africa as it is aiming to be listed on the JSE in the following financial year. Because Alicia is a CA(SA), she ensures that the structure of the board of directors and its sub-committee (see below) is in full compliance. She performs the governance review herself and it will be published in the annual report that the company is fully compliant with the KING IV Code on Corporate Governance in South Africa.

Find My Home Operations

All the estate agents working for FMH do so from their own home offices. All available properties are uploaded on a website to enable customers to bargain hunt online for South African properties.

Alicia encourages her estate agents to 'borrow' the information and pictures of properties in their area from the Properties247 website to save time as it takes forever to get an appointment with a seller. This will enable the website to have a huge variety of properties available to customers. The estate agent can then contact the seller if and when needed to get approval to sell the property.
