[Short answer questions can be ‘dangerous’. You must be sure that what we ask is obvious, simple and easy to understand. The more words we ask them to fill in, the more probability to get wrong answers. A period, a comma, and extra space, and so on, will make the software understand the question as wrong. 

You can of course offer more than one possible correct answer.
