• Ford was created.
• U.S. brought cars to the common man.

Vintage Era

(1918 - Great Depression)

• Cars became fast and their increased.
• Front  design became standard.
• Windshields were needed.
• Most cars were closed.

Pre-war Era

(Great Depression - 1945)

• Main features of the cars didn't change much and included closed design,  body and four wheels.
• Notable cars were Ford V8 model and Volkswagen Beetle.

Post-war Era

(1950s - 1980s)

• American companies experienced a boom in production of vehicles.
• Car designs became more artful and .
• Japan became the largest exporters of cars in the world.

Modern Era

(1980s - present)

• Cars became dominated by , safety features, economic standards and environmental regulations.
