Intelligence-led policing is the collection and analysis

of information to generate an ‘intelligence end product’ that is designed to inform

police decision-making, at both the tactical and strategic levels.

Intelligence-led policing seeks to prevent and solve crime by a

strategy of ensuring that only the most intelligent police officers are

selected to undertake investigations.

Intelligence-led policing involves the cooperation of Police with

the Australian Intelligence services community.
