In developing an eco-lodge near the Blyde River Canyon in Limpopo, the owners partnered with local environmental specialists to rehabilitate the surrounding land. Indigenous vegetation such as aloes, wild olives and proteas, which are suited to the local climate, were planted to support biodiversity. These plants attract pollinators like bees and butterflies and provide natural habitats for local bird species. By avoiding invasive alien plants and focusing on ecological restoration, the lodge promotes environmental sustainability while enhancing the guest experience.
