Thermophiles thrive at high temperatures (e.g. 50-70°C)

Psycrohiles will be killed at the low temperatures used for refrigeration of food.

Psychrotrophs have their life cycles disrupted by high heat and thrive at colder temperatures.

Most human pathogens are mesophiles, that means they grow well between 20°C and 45°C.

For each of these, you need to consider how they work to control microbes.  Is the dry heat method likely to be helped by DNA repair mechanisms?
