I have just arrived in Firenze to visit my shoemaker Stefano, and I wish to commission a pair of oxford shoes for my graduation. Stefano offers ten different lasts from A to T (based on most common foot types). He takes my measurements, and we agree that the C-last is the most suitable for my feet. However, due to my muscular feet, Stefano promises to make a slight adjustment above the instep (jalkapöytä) as he says it’s not a big deal for him. Lastly, we discuss the choice of leather and colour, and Stefano promises to make the shoes in 20 weeks. Did I order ETO (bespoke), MTO, ATO or MTS shoes?
