Counsellor:  We started the first meeting by stating that

some parents describe parenting as one of the most joyful, gratifying and

challenging experiences of their lives. I commented that parenting was much

more draining and humbling than I ever expected, adding that “if I made as many

mistakes on a job as I do as a parent, I’m pretty sure I’d be fired within a

week.”
