While I was growing up, I lived with my aunty at Ilu Awe. It is a sub urban area in the South Western part of Nigeria. In those days, the people of Ilu Awe were easy going and communal in nature. They were mainly farmers and traders. Some of them were also civil servants. Life was generally peaceful. It was hardly ever the case that one would hear of robbery in that community at that time. I will love to visit the town again.
