m+n is even , the m+n=2k and n+p is even then n+p = 2k' where k and k' are integers.

Subtract 2n from both sides and factorize to obtain m+p=2(k+k'-n)

add the two equations, we obtain m+p+2n=2k+2k'

then m+p=2k" where k"=k+k'-n is an integer

we conclude that m+p is even
