The guidelines proposed for national voluntary presentations at HLPF are mandatory

Two options proposed for the thematic reviews during the annual HLPF meeting under the auspices of ECOSOC include: a) a review of all goals through the lens of the annual theme of the HLPF and an in-depth review of 4 substantive goals per year, and b) annual detailed review of all the goals through the lens of the annual theme of the HLPF 

One of the recommendations made by the Secretary-General is that Member States make voluntary presentations at HLPF at least twice between 2016 and 2030

Goal 17 is expected to be reviewed once every 4 years
