The RBC attracts NaCl and water into the inside of the cell

Water floods into the RBC through aquaporin channels

The large proteins within the cell can’t move out so water moves out

[NaCl] is greater outside the cell and NaCl floods into the cell rapidly

[NaCl] is greater inside the cell than outside causing water to move in the opposite direction
