If you are in doubt about the correct operation of the equipment, consult you team mates or friends to proceed as the Laboratory Supervisor may be busy with other students.

You can wear comfortable clothing or footwear if the weather is too hot.

The Laboratory Supervisor will grant special consideration to wearing shorts if you have a sports injury that prevents you from wearing full length trousers.

Keep your hands dry while operating any machinery.

Use dry sand or alcohol-resistant foam to extinguish in case of fire.

Although you have successfully completed the  Safety Quiz, you will again receive a safety briefing before you start using the equipment.

All laboratory tasks will be performed under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor who will provide all instructions.

The Laboratory Supervisor will wait for you if you are not more than 15 minutes late.

You must read the appropriate laboratory handouts before you come to the laboratory.

Hands must be washed after completing the laboratory work, before leaving the laboratory.

When using any rotating machinery, tie back long hair, remove jewellery and do not wear loose clothing. All of these may get caught in moving machine parts.

Laboratory gloves can be worn out of the laboratories but must be discarded within one hour of leaving the laboratory.
