Given a component of an automated car (AV) controlling its speed to be always lower than the maximum speed permitted within Melbourne CBD.

The rules are as follows

  • During school time during weekday (8:00-9:30 AM and 2:30-4:00 PM, inclusive the starting and ending times), the maximum speed is 40 km/h.
  • During other time of weekdays or during weekend, the maximum speed is 60 km/h.

There are two inputs for this function:

  • The first input is a 3-character string: “Mon”, “Tue”, “Wed”, “Thu”, “Fri”, “Sat”, “Sun”.
  • The second input is a whole integer number, e.g., 1610 for the time of 4:10 PM.

The output of this component (function) is a floating point (real) number representing maximum speed, say 50 for “50km/h”. When the data are incorrect, it returns -1.
