To ensure we have at most a certain ratio of source keypoints which get a match.

To avoid matching unrelated elements by ensuring matches are within a certain range.

To check the relevance / uniqueness of each match by comparing its distance with the next closest match.

To control the reciprocity of each match by checking each target descriptor also has the source descriptor as closest neighbor.
