The

Socioecological Model of Health depicts health as being influenced by factors

at multiple levels, from the intrapersonal/individual through to

policies/systems, requiring interventions at each of the four levels to be most

effective. The four levels are:

1)      Intrapersonal/Individual

2)      Interpersonal

3)      Settings (organisation and community level)

4)      Policy and systems

 

Task: You are a consultant nutritionist working alongside

a multidisciplinary allied health team which includes a social worker,

physiotherapist and occupational therapist at Bill’s local council. 

Using the Socioecological Model of Health, identify

and explain two potential challenges/factors and propose and explain two

strategies/interventions at each of the four levels that influence Bill’s

nutrition, access to healthy food, meal preparation habits, and overall

well-being:

1)      Intrapersonal/Individual

2)      Interpersonal

3)      Settings (organisation and community level)

4)      Policy and systems

 For each level, provide:

Two

challenges/factors (explained).

·        

Two

strategies/interventions (explained).

 

2 marks for each explained challenge/factor and 2

marks for each explained strategy/intervention under each of the four levels. (16 marks total).
