Jonathan Bradfield has been farming for 42 years and is currently the owner of Limestone Hill, outside Bathurst in the Eastern Cape. Jonathan farms mainly with pineapples together with his sons-in-law, Anton Ferreira and Albert van der Westhuizen. Back in 1980, Bradfield decided, together with the pineapple farms, to go into dairying and started a dairy stud. Both businesses grew to a point where a decision had to be made on which should receive the available resources. Bradfield decided to focus on the pineapple farms, and while cattle remained on the farm, the shift in focus enabled the pineapple farms to thrive and expand. In recent years, the farm was renewed and expanded significantly. Limestone Hill started their farm with pineapples and in time added the cattle, a processing plant, peppadews, cash crops and soon will also commence with macadamia farms. This is an example of a _____ corporate growth strategy.
